Jessica Oates

Jessica is a zoologist who has four years experience in the consulting industry. Jessica has extensive experience in undertaking terrestrial fauna surveys, biological assessment and environmental impact assessments for a range of projects including the Pilbara, Swan Coastal Plain, South West, Wheatbelt and Gascoyne areas. She has also experience in the preparation of Environmental Management Plans and fauna relocation and monitoring programs.

Jessica’s area of expertise is terrestrial fauna assessments; however, she also has assisted with urban land development and other natural resource management projects. She has a broad knowledge of the management of flora, vegetation, fauna, wetlands, drainage, coastal and riverine environments as well as the statutory obligations and approvals process for developments with environmental impacts at both the state and federal level. Jessica has extensive experience working in remote locations and liaising with indigenous landowners.

Jessica has conducted fauna surveys for a number of clients, including assessments of the railway corridor and mine-site for Fortescue Metals Group and the Cossack Revitalisation project for the Department of Housing and Works. Jessica has published and continues to do so in the scientific literature and presents at national and international conferences.
