- BSc Tech (Earth) (Geoscience) 2006 - University of Western Australia
An experienced botanist and environmental geoscientist Julian offers a multi-disciplinary approach to environmental studies and investigations. He has over nine years field experience in the north of Australia, in particular the Pilbara area, where he has been involved in a wide range of projects both inland, in coastal areas and on islands of the North-West Shelf. His experience also extends to the south of the State, where he has undertaken a number of botanical surveys in the Wheatbelt, Swan Coastal Plain and Northern Jarrah Forest regions.
Julian’s key area of expertise lies in the interaction between ecological systems and geomorphological processes. He recently completed a vegetation survey and geomorphological assessment of the Cane River Wetland for the Central Agricultural and Pastoral Aboriginal Corporation. He has also investigated the impact of modified flooding regimes on riparian vegetation of the Ashburton River for a Pilbara pastoral company, and is currently assessing the interaction between mangrove health and coastal geomorphological processes on the Lowendal Islands for Apache Energy. Julian has also conducted a wide range of biological surveys and soil and groundwater investigations for a number of Pilbara clients, including Chevron, Gorgon, Origin Energy, Water Corporation and Main Roads. He was also instrumental in developing Chevron’s Weed Management Plan for Barrow and Thevenard Islands.
