Environmental Impact Assessment

Astron has the experience and the capacity to carry out a wide array of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and all field investigations and documentation necessary to gain project approval. Astron adopts a multidisciplinary approach to assessing proposed developments, systematically investigating and evaluating all potential environmental issues likely to significantly affect the ambient environment. This process is enriched by the fact that Astron is the only regionally based environmental consultancy in the Pilbara, providing it with extensive “hands-on” experience in the environmental management of operating facilities.

Astron can provide a full EIA service, from initial planning and project management through to detailed environmental investigations, preparation of approvals documentation and liaison with Government departments. Astron personnel also maintain a comprehensive understanding of current legislative requirements and governmental policies, including a sound knowledge of the Environmental Protection Act 1986, Conservation and Land Management Act 1984, Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and various other relevant legislations and regulations.

Astron have completed detailed environmental impact assessments in the following specialised areas:

  • Biological studies
  • Soil and groundwater investigations
  • Archaeological, ethnographical and aboriginal liaison services
  • Facility descriptions
