Environmental Management Plans

Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) provide a systematic and documented set of procedures that guide operations to minimise their environmental impacts during the construction, operation and decommissioning phases of project developments. Effective EMPs combine a comprehensive knowledge of the environmental features to be protected with a detailed understanding of project operations, impacts and work methods. Extensive field-based experience in the environmental management of constructing and operating facilities is the single most important requirement for creating suitably targeted, practical and achievable EMPs.

Astron personnel have written a vast number of EMPs for a diversity of clients, ranging from large scale and diverse multi-billion dollar projects such as the Gorgon LNG development on Barrow Island and the Woodside Pluto development on the Burrup Peninsula, to a series of smaller less complex developments.

Astron personnel are also proficient in the creation of specific EMPs requiring expert knowledge, such as vegetation management plans and weed management plans. Astron’s high level of specific expertise, multidisciplinary depth and “hands-on” field experience leaves it unrivalled in the preparation of environmentally appropriate, yet practical and achievable EMPs.
