Description
Astron was responsible for all environmental approvals, involving the State's first Environmental Protection Statement (EPS) for this major north-west marine facility which includes a 300 m wharf, a 4000 tonne slipway, cyclone moorings and dredged channel. Astron was responsible for government liaison and all actions necessary to obtain project approval including biological surveys, aboriginal heritage clearances, community consultation, terrestrial and marine geotechnical surveys, seawater sampling and choice and management of sub-consultants. It performed the Dredge Spoil Dumping Management Plan and monitored all works throughout the construction period.

Description
Astron prepared a Consultative Environmental Review (CER) for terrestrial portions of the Griffin Gas Development for BHP Petroleum. The Griffin Gas Development involved a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility at the offshore gas field, a sub-sea pipeline to shore, a gas plant on the mainland, a 25 km LPG export pipeline and a 100 km LNG export pipeline. Astron was also responsible for terrestrial environmental surveys including groundwater, soils, vegetation and flora, fauna, aboriginal heritage and community consultation. Astron prepared the environmental impact assessment and the full terrestrial CER which was submitted directly by the client.

Description
Astron was responsible for all work attendant to the obtaining of environmental approval for this southern extension to the Dampier Cargo Wharf. The company prepared an Environmental Protection Statement (EPS) involving the impact identification, assessment and management plus all associated surveys including, Aboriginal heritage (ethnography and archaeology management plus Section 18 preparation and submission), vegetation and flora, fauna, community consultation, and Aboriginal heritage approvals.
