Description
Over a period of twelve years, Astron personnel were responsible for undertaking the monitoring and research of Wedge-tailed Shearwater breeding success on 4 islands of the North-West Shelf, including Airlie, Bridled, Serrurier and Varanus Islands. Using a custom-made burrowscope, some 2000 burrows were monitoring twice yearly to give the most comprehensive view yet of Shearwater behaviour in the north of Australia.

Description
Astron has been responsible for the on-going monitoring of various environmental elements on Thevenard Island, including vegetation, fauna, rehabilitation success, soil and groundwater, since construction of the oil production facility on the island in 1987. Some of these projects represent the longest running environmental monitoring programs in the Pilbara coastal region, and as such offer an invaluable wealth of knowledge to the understanding of naturally occurring variations in environmental condition in the region.

Description
Astron personnel were responsible for undertaking Pilbara Iron's on-going monitoring of various environmental elements throughout the Dampier and Karratha region, including the monitoring of dust, soil, groundwater and surface water condition. Locations sampled during this monitoring program included industrial facilities at East Intercourse Island, Kangaroo Hill landfill, Parker Point and the 7-Mile Facility.
