|---|---|
| Client | Chevron Australia Pty Ltd |
| Location | Thevenard Island |
Description
For the past decade Astron has been responsible for undertaking fauna studies on Thevenard island (20 kms north-west of Onslow) on behalf of oil companies Chevron and Wapet. Survey methods included trapping mammals and reptiles with Pitfall and Elliott traps at three 'disturbed' sites and three 'undisturbed' sites, identifying bird species across the island and opportunistic records of reptiles seen during the day.
| Case Study 2 | Devil Creek Baseline Fauna Studies |
|---|---|
| Client | Apache Energy Limited |
| Location | Devil Creek, West Pilbara |
Description
As part of the Environmental Impact Assessment for Apache's onshore gas processing facility at Devil Creek (80kms south of Karratha), Astron was engaged to conduct a baseline fauna survey of the project area. The survey involved acoustic bat surveys, spotlighting for nocturnal animals, microhabitat searching for smaller vertebrate animals and invertebrates and opportunistic observations including bird watching.

|---|---|
| Client | BC Iron Limited |
| Location | Bonnie Creek, East Pilbara |
Description
Astron was commissioned to conduct a desktop review of the fauna values for BC Iron Limited's feasibility study for the Bonnie Creek Iron Ore Project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
