Astron Environmental Services Pty Ltd (Astron) and Astron Soil and Water Pty Ltd (ASW) announced that they have entered into an agreement to merge the two companies.
The merger brings together the two companies complementary technical capabilities in the biological environmental services and physical environmental services fields. The companies will commence operating as one from later this month under the Astron brand name.
The merger means Astron now provides a diversified suite of environmental services across a range of service areas including; Air Quality, Biodiversity, Contaminated Land, Geospatial Sciences, Rehabilitation and Water Quality. Typical projects of the merged entities include biodiversity surveys, ecological monitoring, land rehabilitation and mine closure, air and water quality monitoring, contaminated sites assessments and remote sensing.
In making the announcement, Astron Managing Director Will Wishart said, “Our vision is to advance environmental management, providing solutions that benefit our clients and the environment. We believe that this merger will be a springboard for further growth and a career development opportunity for each of our valuable employees.”
“Astron has a long history in WA, has an excellent client list including blue chip miners, oil and gas multinationals, utilities and government organisations and boasts a stable and talented workforce.
“This merger suits our clients who prefer to do business with the one entity that they have come to trust over many years of continuous service. The merger will also activate some synergies and efficiencies in the way we do business, helping us to deliver lower project costs for our clients,” Mr Wishart says.
Despite the deteriorating economic conditions in WA, Astron is one of the few consultancies in Perth that hasn't had to dramatically scale back its operations in recent times. “This is a testament to our great team of people who deliver outcomes for our clients on a daily basis. We are grateful to our employees for their fantastic commitment, and to our clients who continue to trust us to deliver on their projects,” Mr Wishart said.
